This cosy hotel is set in a Grad I listed historical building dating back to 1465, right on Colchester's high street. This is one of the oldest inns in the area, and Colchester is one of Europe's most ancient towns, making this a perfect setting for a holiday or weekend escape for those who enjoy history and tradition. The Castle Museum is only 250 metres away, and the Natural History Museum is just a two-minute walk down the High Street. The Colchester main railway station connects to London in about an hour's journey. The cosy rooms are tastefully furnished, offering tea and coffee facilities and en suite bathrooms, while the four poster bedroom is perfect for a romantic break with its period furniture and sumptuous fabrics. The in-house restaurant was one a banquet hall and still features timbered beams, serving classic regional dishes with a modern twist.
