This luxurious hotel occupies a former 18th-century aristocratic residence of Domenico Ridola, founder of the National Archaeological Museum, in the stunning ancient town of Matera. The museum, along with the Sassi—cave houses, monasteries, and churches thought to be one of Italy's first settlements—is a short ten-minute drive away.
