Noble House Essence Évora

Présentation

Noble House Essence Évora, whose origins date back to the 15th century, is a genuine example of a noble Alentejo manor house. Its foundations rest upon the “Cerca Velha”, the city’s first wall, and its history is both rich and diverse. Originally, it was the Manor House of the Counts of Lousã, later serving as a school, and since the 1920s it has operated as a hotel, making it the oldest hotel unit in the city.

In its transformation into the present-day Noble House Essence Évora, the property underwent a renovation led by Architect Fernando Coelho, recipient of several international awards, including the Gold Award in Architectural Design / Hospitality at the 2016 American Architecture Prize.

Located in the historic heart of Évora, just a 2-minute walk from the Évora Cathedral and the Roman Temple of Évora, Noble House Essence Évora is a fantastic starting point from which to discover Évora — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — and the wider Alentejo region.
