Tenuta del Barco evokes the timeless atmosphere of a rural world that no longer exists. There are seven historic courtyard dwellings with barrel-vaulted ceilings in local carparo stone, expertly restored with the utmost respect for Salento traditions. The rustic Cottages and elegant Chalets are nestled within the famed “barco, ” the historic enclosure that has long embraced the fragrant, mature pine forest where herds once rested after transhumance along the nearby wild rocky dunes of the azure Ionian Sea.
The estate is an organic masseria set between vineyards and sandy dunes. It boasts the renowned Locanda del Barco restaurant, offering a fresh take on local cuisine made with organic produce from its own land. There is a large swimming pool with umbrellas and sun loungers, included in the rate when you book directly with the property.
Located 2 km from the white-sand, crystal-clear beaches of Upper Salento. Just 10 minutes from Grottaglie, the city of ceramics, and 20 minutes from Taranto and the Itria Valley.
